Emerald Gem

"This poster was found in in the basement of my Grandmother and Grandfathers pub in Ballybay in County Monaghan. We found the poster when we we back in Ballybay for my Grandmothers funeral. We contacted Carroll's tobacco in Dundalk to see if we could discover the history of the Emerald Gem cigarettes brand. Despite our's and Carroll's best efforts and having contacted the oldest known ex employee of Carrolls, body could shed any light on this brand. We suspect that Carroll's intended to launch this brand but maybe launched as a different brand , maybe even Major. We just don't know and we have been unable to find another like this. We would really appreciate any light that could be shed on this fabulous poster that links the very early Irish soccer and one of Ireland's oldest companies , Carroll's. "
