1950's Savings Stamps
"Each stamp was sixpence, which was determined by a D as opposed to a P. I probably would’ve had quite a few in my lifetime. When it was full you’d either keep on saving, get another book, or take out money and tear out the pages. As you see, I took out more than I put in. Sixpence would’ve been a fair amount of money, children would mostly have gotten pennies. And for special occasions, you might get a half crown, which this page is equivalent to."
