"The MYCoI was an organisation which controlled the sport of motor boat racing in Ireland They held speed-boat events at Clontarf, Pembroke on the Dodder, Seapoint near Monkstown, Dun Laoghaire, and on the Shannon. . They also organised a cruise from Clontarf via the Royal Canal and returning via the Grand Canal. Henry Edwin King-Tenison, The 9th Earl of Kingston, who was the Commodore, lived at Kilronan Castle, Co. Roscommon. Among the more famous members of the club were Oliver StJohn Gogarty and John McCormack the Tenor. "
