West Clare Railway ticket
"A ticket from the West Clare Railway dated 30 September 1959, when my parents, Brendan and Noreen Shaw, took my sister Mary, my brother Reg and I on a day-trip from Ennis to Lahinch. This famous railway closed down in the following year and was a tragic loss to Clare and indeed Ireland in terms of tourism potential. Percy French immortalized the railway and I have wonderful memories of summer days in Lahinch, with ice-cream cones and fishing in the rock-pools under the cliffs on the left-hand side of the strand.
