Earthenware Hot Water Bottle

"I found this hot water bottle in my (deceased) aunt and uncle's home. In the 1960s I played with Kilkenny based Nomad & Swing Commandos showbands and lived with them. When I returned from a "gig" at some unearthly hour, my Aunt Mary (Bonson) would have this "bottle" in my bed and it was "pure joy". As it is heavy, I think the plan was to remove the "water bottle" just before you got into bed. Sometimes, I kept it in bed to warm my feet and a few times it fell out "of the bed" and "the noise of it hitting the floor would waken the dead". "
