1916 Commemorative Coin
"This is a 1916 commemorative coin, is was minted in 1966, 50 years after. When I was 10 years old, in 1966, my school held a commemoration of the 1916 Rising, this is where I learned about the coin and decided that I needed to have it. So I saved my money, 10 shillings at the time and bought the coin in the Bank of Ireland. It has Cú Chulainn on one side, and the team captain of the Republican Army, Padraig Pearse, on the other side. “Eirí Amach na Cásca 1916”."
