Wedding of our Mam and Dad in 1944

"Our Mam, Dorothy (née Goulding of Grand Canal Street, Dublin) as a stage dancer in her youth was referred to by the press as 'Dainty Dorothy Goulding'. Her lifelong friend and co-dancer was Eileen (wearing pillbox hat behind bride), went on to marry actor Noel Purcell. Mam met and married our Dad, Fred, who had returned from wartime Kent having trained as an optician there. Our paternal grandfather was Charles, youngest brother of Ulysses author, James Joyce. Mam was from a musical family herself, our maternal grandfather being Samuel Goulding, a professor of music. The wedding photo was taken on the steps of Haddington Road Church, Dublin and the photo' of Mam and Dad, taken in the late '80s, was taken in the garden of the family residence in Clontarf."
