"This is an awl for making holes in wood and leather. It was my great grandfather's. My father inherited it in 1935. These men repaired their own shoes and of course were great wood craftsmen. My father used to mark holes in the wood he used to work. It's one of my favourite memories. The metal point is very worn and is half the size it was originally almost "
