St. Anthony and St. Therese Statues

"St. Anthony is arguably Ireland's most revered Saint even surpassing our Patron Saint St. Patrick in reverence and equally is St. Therese so beloved by the Irish people. Seldom Catholic places of worship in Ireland will you not find St. Anthony and St. Therese. This St. Anthony Statue was belonged to my cousin Kit Kerins, Tralee Co. Kerry. From the day I found it as a child and took it home I revered it and if ever in need of something lost or during exams, St. Anthony would receive my prayers to find what I needed. St. Therese is an important Saint in the Irish culture, a young nun she was hugely popular and her patronage to those suffering from TB meant most Irish families affected by the widespread disease mainly in the first half of the 20th Century and sought her protection and help. St. Anthony and St. Therese are certainly woven into the fabric of the cultural and religious social history of Ireland."
