Nelson's Pillar
"Photo 1 was taken in 1964 from the top of Nelson's pillar showing O'Connell Street looking south. It was the most famous landmark in Dublin at that time with access to the top by an internal spiral staircase. Photo 2 was taken at street level, showing the pillar and numerous cyclists on the street. I was working in Wicklow when these photos were taken and when the pillar was blown up and was disgusted at the destruction of such an iconic landmark."
