Corral badge from Papal visit to Drogheda
"This is the corral badge I was issued with when we arrived at the Drogheda site where Pope John Paul was to visit. 29th September 1979. It took from 7.30 am to 9 am to drive the 12 miles from Newry to Dundalk. A colleague from work, my late mother, my 12 year old nephew and I then boarded the train to Drogheda and finally caught one of the waiting buses. It just felt like the whole country was on the move that fine morning - unbelievable how well organised everything was. The atmosphere of that day will live forever in my memory, especially the car drive."
