History Of Ireland
"My late mother created this leather cover and binding for a much loved book that belonged to her father . I believe the book to be the "ATLAS AND CYCLOPEDIA OF IRELAND" 1900. All her life, she treasured this book and to learn to bind and carve the cover was a labour of love .The motto by the harp "it is new strung and shall be heard" was the voice of an independent Ireland , she always told me. I think the ship in the background was a nod to her native Waterford ."
