Brass toasting fork
"This was my Grandmother’s toasting fork. I remember it hanging on a hook beside the fireplace. This would have been about 1944...I was 6 years of age. Because it was during the war years and gas was ‘on the glimmer’, the toasting fork was in frequent use. She lived in Glasnevin in Dublin. It hung by my Mother’s fireplace and always by mine where it is today. Sadly, it has not been used for a long time."
