Picture of Dublin Cattle Market

"The cattle market moved from Smithfield to Hanlon's Corner (North Circular Road) Dublin in the early 1900's (approximately) and was there until the 1970's. Farmers, Buyers and Drovers and all those connected with the cattle and sheep did their business at the market. The City Arms Hotel was right beside the site and buyers from England and further afield would stay there and in other boarding houses in the area. When it declined Dublin City Council built houses on the site. "
