Stereo Camera
"This is a self-unfording Stereolette-Cupido twin plate camera, ICA No. 620. It takes two pictures from slightly different angles which creates a stereo effect. I found it in Dixon Hempenstall's shop in Grafton Street after they moved out. Many people in Ireland in the 1950s had a plastic viewing device called a Viewmaster, which enabled them to view stereo pictures. For example, from a chemist shop, one could buy a Viewmaster for Killarney, which enabled you to see stereo pictures (not unlike postcards) of Kate Kearneys cottage, followed by Lough Leane, and the Ladies view. It was a way of seeing exotic places which you could not afford to visit. Despite being called self-unfolding- the camera has folded itself up and i cannot open it!"
