ATTRACTA IS THE YOUNGEST GAELIC SINGER

"This is a clipping from the Derry Journal dated Friday 6th January 1961. It shows a photo of me and my mother Phyllis Simms as she she said goodbye to me before I set off to America with the Little Gaelic Singers. I was just 10 years old by under a month and was the youngest member of the singing group put together by James Mc Cafferty, a Derry musical legend. We toured through America and Canada for 3 months that year, appearing on the Ed Sullivan show and playing to packed houses. As the youngest, I was chosen to present Jackie Kennedy with a set of rosary beads when we visited the White House. I have always been grateful to have had the chance to be a member of the Little Gaelic Singers and this clipping is a treasured memento."
