Rolinx Cigarette Dispener

"During the 1950s in Ireland, cigarette dispensers could be found in the Irish household. This particular one has been in my grandfather’s house for decades. It is a Rolinx mechanical table-top cigarette dispenser. The dispenser is operated by raising the roller-shutter which propels five arms forwards from inside the dispenser (presenting the operator with five cigarettes). The arms are reloaded with a cigarette when the shutter is closed. This cigarette dispenser can be refilled through an opening on the front, which is covered by a removable panel. Inside this devise there is space for approximately twenty-five cigarettes. It may have been brought out when the house had company calling over or could have been used by the family on a regular basis."
