Caul saved at childs birth

"I was born with a caul but it was retained by the hospital. This Caul belonged to my Great grandfather, Terry Caulfield. A caul is a piece of membrane that can cover a newborn's head and face.Birth with a caul is rare, occurring in fewer than 1 in 80,000 births. The caul is harmless and is immediately removed by the physician or midwife upon delivery of the child. Some believe those born with a caul are very lucky and immune from drowning for the rest of their lives, making them prized by sailors "
