Iodine Tablets
"Iodine tablets were issued to every home in Ireland in 2002 and a box was addressed to each member of the household. They were designed to counteract radioactive iodine. They were issued across Ireland amid fears of a terrorist attack on the Sellafield site, which is just 180 kilometres from the Louth coast. They expired in 2005 and apparently will not be replaced. The 2002 batch of 14.2million tablets cost €630,000 "
