The Decca Book of Opera.

"In the 1950's, my mother, Mildred O'Riordan, campaigned for the opening of a library in Clogheen, Co Tipperary and she ran the resulting library for several years. In appreciation of her initiative and years of voluntary services in the resulting very well supported library, the Tipperary Library Committee invited her to choose any book she wished. Both she and my father, Michael, were lovers of Opera so she chose The Decca Book of Opera. At a special event in June 1959 she was awarded the book by the Tipperary County Manager, John P. Flynn. It had been beautifully inscribed inside by the Clogheen Sisters of Mercy. She also received lifelong membership of the library. The book was a treasured possession of hers and I eventually inherited it. "
