Garryowen Plug Tobacco enamelled sign
"Advertising enamel sign for the Limerick tobacco manufacturers Spillane's featuring the prize-winning red setter Garryowen ("Garryowen Plug Tobacco - The Setter of Quality"). His owner was James Giltrap, James Joyce's uncle, the dog was mentioned in Joyce's Ulysses and was accorded an obituary in the Chicago Tribune in 1890. The champion's collar as featured on the sign, with 37 first place medallions was sold at auction recently."
