Hay Knife

"This was a specially designed knife for cutting benches into large ricks of hay on farms that did not have hay barns. This one was in my family as long as I can remember and was in constant use by my father and myself until a hay barn was built in 1960. It was also used to cut the top sod off peat banks to get to the better quality peat underneath. Mechanical peat production arrived in the 1970's and this knife is in storage since."
