The Original Irish Steeplejacks

"In a time before scaffolding or health & safety were ever an issue this is how the job was done by steeplejacks. This is my dad Paddy O’Neill originally from Waterford at work. He was born in 1937 so I assume these pictures were taken from circa 1950’s onwards. Definitely a job for those who had nerves of steel. 2 of these pictures were taken in limerick. One was of the old cement factory chimney and the other on the spire of St. John’s Cathedral....."
