Shannon one design dinghy No. 83
"This very faded magazine cover from December 1973 shows Shannon one-design dinghy No. 83 sailing on Lough Derg, Co. Tipperary. She was built by Mr. Walter Levinge, at Creaghduff, Athlone in 1964, using Norway Spruce planking and oak timbers at 6 inch centres. She has been owned by the same Longford based family since she was built. In accordance with the approved design, she carries a 5oz. Terylene sail, which in this case is a beautiful red colour. This 1920 design of boat is still much used on the Shannon lakes today."
