"Return letter to me from Mr. O'Herlihy on my suggestion to measure high jump/pole vault attempts with laser beams. (They are the only track and field events which do not necessarily give full credit for the height ACTUALLY jumped as the bar is set at a particular height so that an early jump MAY-and probably DOES, exceed the bar height and could possibly even exceed the winning height by another competitor)."
