Postcard from home

"In the late 1930's a trans-Atlantic Flying Boat Station was established at Foynes in County Limerick. This was the first such airport in Europe and my father, Bennet H Tierney, was a member of the radio staff there. This postcard was sent to Mrs. Davis by a family friend and was Airmailed on the very first Trans-Atlantic flight and as such is a piece of Irish aviation history."
