"I think they were the first sponsored jerseys to appear in Croke Park. I played on the Galway vocational school team the lost to Cork in the 1991 final. The match was a curtain raiser to the national league final between Dublin and Kildare. We had the simple 'Galway oil' logo on our jerseys. Jersey was produced by the now closed Connolly sports factory."
