Singer Spartan Sewing Machine

"Singer- Spartan Sewing machine dating to the 1950s. My mother, Molly Beirne, emigrated to New York in the 1950s, and she made the six week voyage from Cobh by herself. I'm not sure how her mother acquired the sewing machine, but it got a lot of good use in Jackson Heights in Queens where she lived for approximately 8 years. When she returned to Ireland in the 1960s to marry, she worked within the home and the Singer-Spartan sewing machine (and a Remington Typewriter) came home with her. Molly worked as secretary during the day and worked on the sewing machine at night. Molly gifted this to me before passing in 2001. "
