The Old Railway

"We lived near the old railway that ran between Bennettsbridge in Kilkenny and the factory in Ballinacourty, Waterford. My mother was gatekeeper at the road crossing in Carrigarea. This piece is from the poles carrying the phone lines along the track. My mother would call ahead to the next station to tell them the train was on the way. The rail line is gone now but has been replaced with the beautiful Waterford Greenway. Not many of these pieces survived Me and my brother intact but he managed to rescue this one. "
