The Irish Business and Professional Directory

"This book belonged to my uncle and I can remember him using it along with the old telephone. It tells the story of life in Ireland and all the goods that people used everyday. It also lists the hotels and places to eat that have long since disappeared. The language in the book reflects a way of life that is not spoken of today for example Clothiers, Drapers and Druggists (Chemist). The book in itself is descriptive of a previous way of life. It lists the people who lived in the villages/towns and their occupations or business. It is like looking into a window in the past and makes me smile. From time to time I pick it up to read and marvel at the people of the past in Ireland. The book is old and the pages yellow but this adds to its character."
