"George Wade was my Grandfather and my parents, Iris and Straker Carryer ran Wade (Ireland) Ltd in Portadown. That’s what I grew up with. Wade are most famous for making Wade’s Whimsies but they made a host of other things as well in Portadown. Every other set was made in Portadown. I also have a porcelain musical mug. They also made alumina high tensile porcelain for industrial use including nose cones for rockets. "
