Adolf Morath, Portrait of Ireland (London; 1951)
"This is a first edition signed copy of Portrait of Ireland. Not much is known about it but the photographer was German, he had a studio in Liverpool before WWII. He came to Ireland and took photographs of buildings, scenery, famous people – he happened to come across my great grandfather sitting outside his house in Kerry. They invited him in and he took photos of my great grandfather, grandmother, grand uncle, and my mother's cousin Peggy who was home from Boston. There's famous people in the book like Eamon de Valera and he did scenery and buildings as well. At the back of the book he tells you the technical data of all the cameras he used, what lenses he used, and how the photographs were taken."
