1798 rebellion Map of Vinegar hill Enniscorthy prior to the fighting on June

"This is military map of 1798 rebellion showing the rpositions of the irish-the ccoppy boys and the british on the 14 th June 1798. you can see the Irish hav made a terrible mistake and have been backed up the hill and into the crook of the river-no escape. The map would have been printed on a copper plate and was Tayleo aptain of his Majesty's engimeers. I have done some research on this family and found out that they were a important family in Irish engineering history After the 1798 rebellion the British Government commissione the military road from Dublin so that this region would be lesss isolated and easier for the troops to reach should ther be an other insurrection. Alexander was the military engineer put i charge of this project. his family were heavily involved in mapping the byways of Ireland and in other projects ."
