'The Guardian Century' - the 20th Century in 9 Newspaper Supplements

"‘The Guardian Century’ was a supplement of 10 parts that appeared in the Saturday edition of The Guardian from September to December 1999. The supplements reprint selections from The Guardian across the 20th Century, reset and designed in the type and style of their time. The articles cover everything from major news and events to "the seismic social, cultural and technological changes that have shaped our world". Packed with reprinted articles covering everything from major political, cultural and technological events to epoch-making books and films, each copy of ‘The Guardian Century’ recaptures the feel of each period, completely free from retrospect. The articles republished in ‘The Guardian Century’ run the full gamut of the 20th Century, from World War I and II, the Russian Revolution and Easter Rising, the Holocaust, the dropping of the atomic bomb, the Vietnam war, through to the fall of the Berlin wall, collapse of Communism, and Mandela’s triumph over Apartheid. I have 9 of the 10 supplements that were published in The Guardian in 1999 (the edition covering the 1960s is missing). The Supplements cover the following decades /periods: Part One – 1899-1913 Part Two – 1914-1919 Part Three – The 1920s Part Four – 1930-1938 Part Five – 1939-1945 Part Six – 1946-1959 Part Eight – 1970-1979 Part Nine – 1980-1989 Part Ten – 1990-1999 "
