Not just another cow creamer!

"Back in the 1920's my family were very poor. Subsistence farmers in North Kerry. There were 11 in the family. One day, in the mid to late 1920's, my aunt, Eileen Murphy, found 2d on her way to school. She bought a raffle ticket and won the cow creamer. It sat on my grandmother's dresser until her death in 1969. After the funeral Eileen returned to England, where she had been living since the 1940's, taking the creamer with her. In the mid 1990's she gave me the creamer. I had built a house next to the "old house" by then and Auntie Eileen said she wanted the creamer "to go home" again. Now the creamer sits on my dresser. "
