Ordination cloth

"This is an embroidered cloth to put over the hands of the new priest during his ordination ceremony. This cloth was commissioned by Kathleen Walsh, Rosemary Street, Roscrea for her only child Ned who was ordained as a Cistercian priest (monk) Fr Laurance in Mount St Joseph's Abbey in 1953. Fr Laurnce continues to live out his vocation in Mount St Joseph's Abbey where he went to school and entered as a novice in the 1940's. Fr Laurance is an avid historian and has published a number of historical research documents. He has served as Abbot and Prior within his community and has developed a close relationship with the travelling community over the years."
