petrol ration book
"I wasn't long after starting work in Dublin when the first petrol shortage of the 1970's took place around 1973-74. You were limited to what petrol you could get and there were long queues at petrol stations. I remember going to work on a bicycle for a while and you applied to the Motor Taxation Office for coupons which I have attached photo. The petrol crisis didn't last for long and I never had to use them."
