Sweet Afton Cup Winners medal 1973

"This medal is unusual in that it was a medal that was awarded to the winners of a GAA competition run by Cuman na mBunscoile. This competition was for Under 13 boys. It was Division 1. The trophy for the winners was called the Sweet Afton Cup and the competition was ferocious between the primary schools in Dublin to win the trophy. It would be unthinkable today to have a Children's competition sponsored by a cigarette company."
