Bonn na Dála

"It came to me through my mother’s family. I presumed the person who was awarded it to was one of my uncles who died in 1943. He was a teacher in 1921 and he was very involved in the War of Independence. He probably served as a translator or something. During WWII, my uncle re-enlisted in the local security forces. He was active in the GAA, which seems to be his main passion along his teaching job. He was from Donegal but at 1921 he was a student teacher in Dublin. "
