US Passport of James Brennan

"This is the US Passport issued on 7 November 1919 to my grandfather, James Brennan (1886-1968) to facilitate his trip home to visit his mother, Ellen in Sligo. It reminds me that we have always been an emigrant people. His passport photo is on page 148 of, Records of Our National Life: American History at the National Archives published by NARA in 2009. It is fitting that a record about James should be held by the country which accepted an immigrant like him and by the home country to which he was happy to return and live the rest of his life in."
