"Anybody who went to a Catholic school in Ireland during the 1950s and 1960s would have had a copy of this book. Its pages were filled with questions and answers. Some of the answers were designed to scare the living day lights of us little children. For instance, Question 176, WHAT IS HELL?.....Answer, HELL IS A PLACE OR STATE OF PUNISHMENT IN THE NEXT LIFE, WHERE THE WICKED UNDERGO EVERLASTING SUFFERING WITH THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGELS. With that stuff drummed into us day after day we really did try to stay good kids. It's funny as I was typing this out I found that I remembered the answer from memory. So it must have worked. Imagine Joe Duffy's 'Liveline' if this book was reintroduced in our schools today!"
