"The Erne cinema was Ballyshannon's finest - with central heating and air conditioning boasted on its monthly programmes. Regular advertisers in the programme  were Millars Garage Official Austin Agents and newsagent Paddy O'Neill purveyor of confectionery - world of ices, fruiterer. etc. As a treasure, they are a reminder that there were B pictures - and you could see an A and B film  - a double bill each programme apart from the special screenings, in big print, such as Ben Hur that ran for a week. A national treasure when the programme changed every second night and was a world away from the popcorn odour of the multiplex!
