Newspaper Article
"This Newspaper Article from the Lisburn Herald from 1954 tells the story of my 4x great grandfather Richard Grainger from Derriaghy co Antrim. Richard joined the Royal Artillery in 1810, he later was the H.M.S. Northumberland along with the Napoleon to St Helena where the emperor was imprisoned. The article contains letters, detailing how life was in both Derriaghy and St Helina, with many personal stories. Richard tragically died on the island and the second of his 2 sons was born after his death, how Napoleon must have been effected by his death, as he gave the silver buckles of his shoes to his wife along with other articles, Richards first born Thomas was sent to the Hibernian school in Dublin. I have copies of some of those original letters , and his Military record of his death in St Helina. "
