Embroidered tablecloth West of Ireland
"I really admire this handmade work by my Grandmother. Drawn thread work on linen. Thread was removed and remaining threads were pulled together to make a pattern. I know tablecloths like this were used throughout her house for events like Mass Stations and Americans coming home, this is the only one I have. I'm in awe of the quality of the detail in the cloth; I managed a basic hem stitch. Knowing Granny made lots of these while running a farm amazes me, she was a great worker but quietly got on with things. I like that she stitched her name on it, it's precious to me. "
