Bus and Tram strike of 1935

"My granddad was involved in the 1935 Bus and Tram strike he was a union rep. In this newspaper photo he is the man in the front row second from the left. He later went on to drive what was called the Aer Lingus bus ( as it was painted in the Aer Lingus colours. These were built in 1953 and ran from the city to the airport. The clock was presented to him after the strike . The inscription on the front says : Presented to Bro Thomas Dolan By The Dublin Bus and Tram Workers for Services Rendered 1935 . The clock was kept in the parlour in my grannies . I loved the chimes as a little girl."
