Letter of Sympathy
"This is a letter of sympathy to the people of Iniskeagh Islands. Co. Mayo, from a priest who was a curate to the island. It was written to my Granduncle. It was a letter of sympathy because 10 young men had drowned in October 1927 in Inishkea. The curates name was Michael O’Donnell but he was no relation. It was written in November. The curate was based in Ballina, Mayo. He lived in Inishkea for 13 years. My father was the eldest of the O’Donnell family. He went to live in the Inishkea island in 1905, when his father died. My granduncle was the King of the Island after his brother’s passing."
