Arthur Guinness & Sons Coopers' daughter’s - National School Stool
"My Grandfather (John Maher) was a cooper (Maker of Oak Casks) employed by Arthur Guinness & Sons, Dublin from early 1900’s to late 1940’s. His daughters attended Dolphin’s Barn National school. According to my late mother Margaret (Maher) Morrin as there was no chairs provided by the National School the children brought in their own wooden stools to sit on. The majority of the children’s parents were employees of Arthur Guinness & Sons. My grandfather made this 9 inch Oak Stool circa 1920. Photo 1 - 9 Inch solid Oak three legged stool.
