Air Raid training certificate
"The wording of this certificate is vintage- The Grand Priory in the British Realm of the Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem..... In 1938, the risk of air raids was understood, and therefore staff had to be trained to deal with the casualties. this certificate acknowledges the holder as being capable of training the members of his Brigade. In this instance the Brigade instructor was based at Sr. James' Gate- i.e. in the Guinness Brewery. "
