Gold Disc Presented to Mario Lanza – Be my love

"Mario Lanza was the first classical opera singer to get a gold disc. I was a fan since the age of 7 and trained as a tenor singer in the Cobh Cathedral in 1960s when I was an apprentice in the ship yard. In 1990 I was in business in Australia and went to an open air concert. I went on stage with Pavarotti and sang the encore to Neson Dorma and became friends with him. I then became friendly with the Lanza family. I would attend the Lanza ball in Philadelphia every year and became friends with his son, Damon. In November 2007, at the ball I was presented with the gold disc for helping. In last few years I've made friends with Lisa Lanza Bergman and her husband visit every second year "
