Seed fiddle

"The seed fiddle was used in the 1940s to sow flax, my father used it a lot back them. It was held over the shoulder with a strap which would adjust the settings on the side to what ever rate you wanted. Two pikes were also wanted to keep the distance right in the field. Later in life when I was younger I see my father set rape for Winter feed with it. The last thing he did with it was to plant the grass seeds on the lawns around the houses that we live in twenty years ago. He has since passed away. Only last week it was used to set a lawn. The settings are so fine."
